Standing up for due process

11:53 Apr 16 2011 Olakwo Village, Aboh Mbaise, Imo State

Description
The election went on more peaceful today than last week. But it is extremely wrong to be telling people@d point of thumbprinting on the ballot paper to vote for PDP when the electorate had already resolved through meetings that they will vote for JONATHAN\SAMBO.This is exactly what happened where I voted @ OKWUAKU Polling unit of olakwo village in the ENYIOGUGU WARD of aboh mbaise LGA of imo state. But in the ALADINMA & IBEKU polling units of the olakwo village in the ENYIOGUGU WARD,people were allowed to vote & make their choice freely without anybody asking them@any point in time to vote\thumbprint for any particular political party. In the umuelem polling unit at the next village, people voted freely without being coerced to thumbprint in another style\for PDP as was done in the OKWUAKU POLLING UNIT where i voted.as a lawyer,i refused to allow them manipulate me to change my style of thumbprinting at the point of voting.INEC must warn her adhoc staff & political
parties' agents not to allow anybody manipulate the electorate at the point of voting in the polling units because such can no longer be regarded as SECRET BALLOT OR FREE & FAIR ELECTIONS.Election started as early as 9a.m in those polling units & by 11.30a.m,persons were coming to vote one by one with no queue again. so,anybody who comes in votes freely immediately after accreditation.
